The transition to the 2nd Education Paradigm does have consequences in how learners think and how they will will process information. Each paradigm has associated with it a change in how the mind thinks in order to learn.
This explains why most people gravitate to picture books and web sites; we are basically lazy and want to understand with the minimum expenditure of effort. Inquiry learning is an iterative process not a linear one and it is important that learners are constantly referencing back to the centre to reflect, review and iterate; usually via discourse.
Any curriculum that attempts to meet the needs of 21stC learners must address an inquiry model and focus on competencies rather than discrete skills.
A truly "global curriculum" would have each of these elements
