Building a New "Paradigm"
The Ethics of Knowledge

However there is one very large assumption that is being made in relationship to the capability of the knowledge worker, the service sector worker and those involved in employment in the manufacturing and farming industry.

It is all very well to understand, think laterally, generate new ideas, solve complex problems and be good decision makers, accessing, processing and synthesising large quantities of information in a wide variety of formats, BUT if those same people lack the necessary attitudes, qualities and values which provide that person with the capability to transmit, share, empower and provide leadership and in so doing allow their very clever ideas to blossom, mature and provide processes, systems, products and environments which will benefit their entire community then we are all in trouble.

Knowledge without appropriate attitudes, values and qualities is almost valueless to the society that the person lives in. Without appropriate attitudes, qualities and values the ideas, concepts and the outworking of these will go nowhere.

It is all very well to have a good set of values and attitudes but it is how that person's personality displays the interplay between their values and attitudes to the world via their personal qualities that can make that person invaluable in a wide range of situations, whether it be an emergency and heroic action is required or whether the office needs someone who is light-hearted and fun to be around in order to generate a cordial environment to work or socialise in.

If a person can display their values and attitudes with confidence, tolerance, cheerfulness and a measured sense of self belief then their role in society will become enhanced exponentially. The equation below provides a measure of the importance of someones personal qualities:
