The Perfect [education] Storm

The Perfect Storm

The “perfect storm” that formed in 1991 off the east coast of the US did not arrive fully formed as a single unit but rather it was built over a week, from three weather systems.

  • A low pressure system that formed over the Great Lakes, on the Canadian/US border

  • An icy cold high-pressure system drafting down from Canada.

These two storm systems combined to form a storm in the North Atlantic, off Nova Scotia's coast. This cold, low pressure system then fed:

  • Hurricane Grace, off the cost of Florida

The Perfect [Education] Storm

The “perfect [Education] storm” that formed in 2001 across the globe did not arrive fully formed as a single unit but rather it was built over 10 years, from three technological and educational systems.
